This was one of the original Twig product experiments and an influence on our brand name. It started as an experiment to add materiality and a cool look to our commuter bikes. As we prototyped and developed it we began to try out some bent-wood lamination shapes that mimicked some of our favorite handlebar shapes.
The straight bar includes a steel rod reinforced core and has slightly larger grips.
The contoured handlebars are made out of solid hardwood (usually Black Walnut), steam bent, laminated with carbon fiber reinforcement and hand carved to shape.
